This year there will be two Vixenz teams within the club, please read below for descriptions of the two teams and how to express your interest in joining.
Vixenz
Vixenz will train twice a week and compete at the highest level within New Zealand. The team’s goal this year is to win Nationals.
To play on Vixenz you must be able to commit to:
• Playing at Nationals on the 24/25 of March 2012 (held in Auckland)
• Saturday morning and Tuesday evening trainings from the 14th of January.
Players should express their interest in joining the team (see below) and then all interested players will go through a selection process. Selectors will look at:
• Ability to commit to nationals and the trainings specified above as well as a team code of conduct
• Level of skill and fitness
• Fit within the team (position on the field)
Based on the level of interest in this team, a trial may be scheduled in December. The selectors for the team will be the Vixenz Coach/Captain, Vixenz DS Coach and an independent selector from outside of the club.
Vixenz DS
Vixenz DS (Development Squad) will give intermediate and beginner players a place to receive coaching and be part of a team that encourages learning and personal growth in the sport.
Vixenz DS will also welcome experienced players who would like to play within this team culture. The team will compete in Nationals with the goal of being competitive and giving its players experience playing at this level.
To play on Vixenz DS you must be able to commit to:
• Playing at Nationals on the 24/25 of March 2012 (held in Auckland)
